Amsterdam, The Netherlands - October 26, 2024
Dr. Mao Mao, CEO of SeekIn and a globally recognized scientist, was an invited speaker at a symposium hosted by Inspire2Live at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. He presented an innovative and cost-effective early cancer screening technology designed to bridge healthcare gaps and promote equitable access to medical care worldwide.
Globally, the unequal distribution of healthcare resources has long been a significant cause of health inequity. Particularly in impoverished regions like Africa, outdated medical conditions often lead to delayed detection and treatment of diseases such as cancer, resulting in persistently high mortality rates. Confronting this stark challenge, Inspire2Live convened a symposium titled " To accelerate the implementation of affordable and available early detection in Sub Saharan Africa", aiming to explore and address this global issue. A key highlight of the symposium was OncoSeek®, a groundbreaking innovation in Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED). Developed by SeekIn, OncoSeek® represents a pivotal advancement in making early cancer detection more accessible and cost-effective.
OncoSeek® offers a patient-friendly solution for the simultaneous detection of nine types of cancer using a single blood sample. Powered by artificial intelligence (AI), this test represents a significant advance in preventive medicine, being capable of early detection of more than 9 types of cancer through a simple blood collection. The introduction of OncoSeek® in Nigeria is a monumental step towards diminishing cancer-related mortality rates and alleviating the economic burden of treatment, contributing to global health equity.

Inspire2Live is an international patient advocacy organization operating on an international level. We are on a mission to inspire and empower patients, researchers and clinicians to work together to prevent, treat and eliminate cancer.
